Maisy

Maisy always brushed her teeth;
She brushed ’em every day—
Brushed ’em after she ate cake,
And brushed before she’d play,

Scrubbed them right when she got up,
Flossed twice before she slept.
Folks just thought that Maisy liked
To keep her teeth well-kept.

What, perhaps, they didn’t know was
Maisy liked the day;
And she’d do all that she could do
To keep the dark at bay.

Maisy cleaned her teeth until
They shone the brightest bright;
So she could smile when nighttime came
And fill her room with light.
